Pecan Pie

Beat:

3 large eggs or 2 jumbo eggs

Add to eggs and mix:

1 cup light brown sugar
½ cup light syrup (karo)
3 tablespoons melted butter
a dash of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons maple syrup

Add to mixture:

1 cup pecans (shelled)

Pour filling into:

1 pie crust (deep)

Bake at 400º for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 300º and bake for 40-50 minutes, until firm.

Tips

If you want enough ingredients to fit into a regular store-bought pie crust, pack down the sugar to measure a little less than 1 full cup and reduce white karo syrup a little.

To avoid burnt crust edges, brush beaten egg white on crust edges.
